Package Workflow Process Management with Separate Authoring and Delivery Distributions

Overview

This guide explains how to configure Workflow Process Management (WPM) when using separate distributions for the authoring and delivery applications.

When to Use

Use these steps if your deployment separates the authoring and delivery applications into different containers and you need to enable Workflow Process Management.

Prerequisites

brXM 14.3 or earlier
Separate authoring and delivery distributions created from your implementation project

Implementation Steps

Create separate distributions for the authoring and delivery applications.

In the platform/pom.xml file, add the following dependency:

</dependency>

In src/main/assembly/webapps-without-cms-component.xml, insert the following section after the </files> closing element:

    <dependencySet>
      <useProjectArtifact>false</useProjectArtifact>
      <outputDirectory>webapps</outputDirectory>
      <outputFileNameMapping>bpm.war</outputFileNameMapping>
      <includes>
        <include>com.onehippo.cms7:hippo-addon-wpm-camunda:war</include>
      </includes>
    </dependencySet>
  </dependencySets>

Build and package your project using Maven. Follow the instructions in Create Separate Distributions for the Authoring and Delivery Applications.
Deploy the authoring and delivery web applications as described in Deploy the Authoring and Delivery Web Applications Separately.

Verification

Confirm that both the authoring and delivery applications start without errors.
Verify that Workflow Process Management features are available in the authoring environment.
