Overview
The Lucene Index Export add-on enables you to export the Lucene search index from a running Bloomreach Content environment. This capability is designed for on-premise clustered deployments that require high availability.
Without this add-on, you must take the environment offline to create a reliable Lucene index backup. With the Lucene Index Export Service, you can perform a 'hot' export—capturing the index while the environment remains online. You can then use this exported index to initialize new cluster nodes or restore existing ones. This process avoids the need to regenerate the index from scratch, significantly reducing initialization time for installations with large content repositories.
