Project Size Limitations

The Projects feature in Bloomreach Content enables teams to collaborate by grouping related items, such as channels and documents, into a single project. Team members can work on these items and submit the project for review to collect and address feedback.

While Projects supports a variety of collaboration scenarios, there are current limitations on the number of channels and documents that can be managed effectively within a single project. The size and complexity of included channels also affect overall usability and system performance.

During internal testing, a project containing 20 channels and 200 documents was created to evaluate user interface responsiveness. At these levels, the Projects feature remained functional, but users experienced noticeable delays in the UI. Exceeding these limits resulted in unacceptable performance degradation.

Current recommended limits:

• Do not include more than 20 channels in a single project.
• Do not include more than 200 documents in a single project.
• Avoid using Projects for channels with more than 200 pages or for projects that combine more than 200 documents and channels at once.

Performance impact:

• For documents, performance issues are limited to the user's browser when viewing project details.
• For channels, high server CPU load can impact all logged-in users.
