How do I simulate a visitor's location on localhost?

Set the X-Forwarded-For HTTP request header to spoof the visitor's IP address.

You can add this header to browser requests using browser extensions such as Modify Headers for Firefox or ModHeader for Chrome.

How can I generate visitor traffic on localhost?

Run the hit-gogreen.py script, which is included in the GoGreen Enterprise source code. Provide the URL prefix as a parameter.

For example, to generate traffic for a site running on localhost:

./hit-gogreen.py http://localhost:8080/site

What happens to component configuration when a segment is deleted?

When you delete a segment, the Relevance Module immediately removes the segment from its configuration. However, the HST component configuration for the deleted segment is removed lazily. The system does not parse and update all HST configurations at the time of segment deletion due to performance considerations. Instead, the HST ignores component configurations that reference deleted segments. When you edit and save a component's configuration in the Channel Editor, the system removes all deleted segments from that component's configuration.

Can I access a visitor's targeting data as a developer?

Yes. You can access a visitor's targeting data directly in your HST components. The targeting profile provides both the raw data collected by various collectors and the matching segments with their scores.

Why does the CMS fail to load PageViewsCharacteristicPlugin.js?

Symptom

• The CMS includes the Relevance Module and runs in Wicket development mode.
• After logging in, the CMS does not respond to clicks.
• The browser's JavaScript console logs an error similar to:

Uncaught TypeError: undefined is not a function

Cause

The EasyPrivacy list in the AdBlockPlus browser extension blocks requests matching /pageviews/*, which includes the Ajax call for PageViewsCharacteristicPlugin.js.

Resolution

Disable the EasyPrivacy list in AdBlockPlus to allow the CMS to load the required JavaScript file.
