Overview
Bloomreach Discovery enables personalized customer experiences in e-commerce through two primary capabilities:
- AI-driven algorithms optimize navigation for each site visitor.
- Merchandisers can adjust configurations to further improve conversion rates.
After integrating with the Bloomreach APIs, you gain access to intelligent search, smart suggestions, and visitor insights.
Bloomreach Discovery operates on top of your e-commerce integration. It processes data from your e-commerce backend and can fully replace site search and product grid functionality. Additional features such as More Like This, Just for You, and Widgetization are available and supported in the Channel Manager.

Connect to a Bloomreach Discovery Instance
Hint: Before integrating, ensure you have configured a feed delivery process that sends your product catalog to your Bloomreach Discovery instance daily.
Bloomreach Commerce Accelerator applications provide a CRISP resource for connecting to your Discovery instance. The configuration is located at:
/hippo:configuration/hippo:modules/crispregistry/hippo:moduleconfig/crisp:resourceresolvercontainer/productsResource
Configure the following properties for your connection:

You can retrieve these values from your Bloomreach Discovery instance at https://tools.bloomreach.com/ under the Configuration tab.
Define these properties in the Bloomreach Accelerator Configuration File. Replace placeholder values with your project-specific data.

After loading these properties into the Bloomreach Commerce Accelerator, select the corresponding values in your channel settings:

When the connection and feed delivery are configured, you can enable Bloomreach APIs integration in the channel settings:
Selecting Enable BloomReach APIs causes all compatible Bloomreach Commerce Accelerator components to use data from your Bloomreach Discovery instance. For example, the Search Box component will query Bloomreach APIs instead of your e-commerce backend.
Connector configuration details are located in the Default Commerce Connector Set file. There are two relevant entries:
bloomreach: Configuration for product data retrieval.bloomreach_autosuggest: Configuration for autosuggest functionality.
These connectors are separate because they reference different CRISP resources, as indicated by the Resource Space property.
The component section lists all supported operations. Some components share IDs with e-commerce connectors, so you do not need to change component definitions when switching connectors. The table below lists the available connector components:
