Audit Addon Common Use Cases

The Audit Addon requires an additional license. Contact your account manager or sales representative for licensing details.

This page describes common tasks you can complete with the Audit Addon.

Export All Events

To export all captured events:

1. Clear all text and facet search filters. This displays all events recorded by the addon.
2. Click Download above the results.
3. Select either CSV or JSON as the export format.

Identify When a User Was Deleted

User deletion events are categorized as user-management with the action delete-user. The event message includes the deleted user's username.

To find when a user was deleted:

1. Set a facet filter for the delete-user action.
2. Add a text search for the deleted user's username.
3. Review the search results to see all deletion events for that username.

Review Historical Changes on a Specific Document

To review workflow changes for a document:

1. Perform a text search using the document's UUID or full path.
2. The results will include all events related to that document, including content changes.
3. For content change events, the system calculates the difference between the old and new versions.
4. Open the additional details modal to review the content differences.

Export a List of All Inactive Users

To identify inactive users:

1. Create a faceted search for create-user events to collect all usernames created in the CMS.
2. Perform another faceted search for login actions within the last 6 months. This provides all recent login events.
3. Compare the list of users who have logged in during the last 6 months with the full list of created users.
4. Users without a login event in the last 6 months are considered inactive.

List All Documents Published This Week by a Specific User

To find documents published by a user in the current week:

1. Apply a facet filter for the specific user's events.
2. Add a filter for the publish action.
3. Set a date filter to include only events from the last week.
4. The search results will show all documents published by that user during the specified period.
