Override the Default HST Component Class

When a page component does not specify a hst:componentclassname property, the delivery tier (HST) uses the built-in class org.hippoecm.hst.core.component.GenericHstComponent by default.

You can override this default by specifying the fully qualified class name of your custom HstComponent in the hst-config.properties configuration file:

default.hst.component.class: org.example.myhippoproject.components.MyCustomHstComponent

Info: The hst-config.properties file is usually located at site/webapp/src/main/webapp/WEB-INF in your project.
