Overview of Experience Manager Events and Response Mechanisms

Overview

This page describes the events generated by Bloomreach Content and the mechanisms available for broadcasting and responding to these events. It outlines which events use which mechanism and provides links to implementation guides.

Purpose

Experience Manager events enable delivery tier implementations to react to user operations performed in the Experience Manager interface. Some operations, such as creating or updating channels, require additional validation or processing in the delivery tier. To support this, Experience Manager broadcasts specific events that can be consumed by listeners.

Event Broadcasting Mechanisms

Experience Manager uses two mechanisms to broadcast events:

• Channel Manager Event Listener: Used for certain channel-level events.
• HST Internal Event Bus: Used for a broader set of channel and page events.

Both mechanisms allow delivery tier implementations to listen for and respond to events. The mechanism used depends on the event type.

Additional Capabilities

Listeners registered with the HST internal event bus can also abort channel actions when necessary.
