Remove the _cmsinternal Prefix from Site Preview Links in Experience Manager

When the CMS runs on a different hostname than your site(s), you can remove the \_cmsinternal prefix from site preview links. In this configuration, the CMS and the sites do not share the same HTTP session, so the URL does not need to indicate preview mode.

To remove the \_cmsinternal prefix, set the hst:cmspreviewprefix property of the hst:hosts node to an empty string. You can configure this property using bootstrapping (recommended for upgrade compatibility) or by updating the value directly in the CMS Console for immediate changes.

To bootstrap this configuration, add the following YAML to your repository-data-site module:

If you deploy multiple site web applications, ensure that the hst:cmspreviewprefix property is set to the same value in each webapp.
