Delivery Framework Concepts
The delivery framework in Bloomreach Content (HST) provides the foundation for flexible, multi-channel content delivery. This page defines the core concepts used in the framework.

Delivery Configuration
A delivery configuration is a set of configuration items required to deliver a site. These items include, but are not limited to, the sitemap, page models, and components.
Site
A site links a delivery configuration to a content root in the repository. Multiple sites can share the same delivery configuration but use different content roots. For example, translated sites can reuse configuration with separate content.
Channel
A channel is a site that is managed through the Experience manager interface.
Page Model
A page model defines a hierarchy of components.
Component
A component is a unit within a page model hierarchy. Components typically serve a single function, such as retrieving content, executing a search, or delegating to child components. A component can optionally use a template for Java-based server-side rendering.
Catalog
The catalog contains components that CMS users can add to a container in the Experience manager.
Container
A container is a placeholder within a page model for one or more catalog component instances. CMS users add and configure these instances in the Experience manager.
Container Item
A container item refers to a catalog component instance that resides within a container.
Template
A template is used for Java-based server-side rendering of a component, typically with Freemarker. Templates are not required when using the Delivery API.
Sitemap
The sitemap defines the URL structure for a site as a hierarchy of sitemap items.
Sitemap Item
A sitemap item maps a URL or URL pattern to a page model and, optionally, to a content path relative to the site's content root.
Site Menu
A site menu is a hierarchical navigation structure that binds menu items to URLs defined in the sitemap.
