Upgrade 16.2 to 16.3
Overview
This guide describes how to upgrade a Bloomreach Content implementation from version 16.2.x to 16.3.y.
Significant Changes in 16.3
- Phase 2 of the advanced link management feature is available. This release improves reference visibility, enables concurrent publication for direct references, and helps users track content usage and assess the impact of changes.
- Content request management is enhanced. The Pending Requests panel now includes a "See all" button that links to an improved Advanced Search page. Advanced Search now displays a pending request indicator and filter, and supports bulk actions for requests.
- When copying a document for translation, automated translation link adaptation now updates links to match the target locale.
- brXM 16.3 supports storing and serving WebP images. For details, see the image and asset upload validation documentation.
- The
org.apache.commons:commons-imagingdependency has been updated. - You can now disable replication during application startup.

Third-party library upgrades in 16.3 may introduce backward compatibility issues. If your project code does not build or run as expected, review the affected libraries and update your code to ensure compatibility. Pay particular attention to the removal of the json-lib library. Adjust your implementation as needed to use supported libraries.
