Deploy the Project

Info: This tutorial applies to Bloomreach Content versions 14, 15, and 16. If you use an earlier version, some steps may differ.

This guide describes how to upload your distribution file and deploy it to an environment using Mission Control.

Upload the Distribution

1. Log in to Mission Control.
2. Go to the Distributions tab on the Files screen.
3. Click the upload icon in the bottom right corner.
4. Select the distribution file you created in the previous step from your local system.

The upload process may take several minutes, depending on your network speed. The distribution file is typically over 100 MB.

Create an Environment

1. Navigate to the environments overview.
2. Click the red + icon in the bottom right corner to create a new environment.

3. In the dialog, enter the name tutorial and click Create.

4. After the environment is created, select it to open the environment details screen.

Deploy the Distribution in the Environment

1. Click Deploy an Application.
2. Select myproject-0.1.0-SNAPSHOT-distribution.tar.gz.
3. Click Deploy.

4. In the confirmation dialog, click Deploy to start the deployment.

Deployment may take several minutes to complete.

Before you can access the website, you must configure virtual hosts for the environment.

Configure Virtual Hosts

1. On the Details tab of the tutorial environment, click the Console button. The Console application opens in a new browser tab.
2. Log in as admin.
3. Navigate to /hst:myproject/hst:hosts. This node contains the configuration for public-facing site virtual hosts.

The default node structure is:

4. Add an hst:virtualhostgroup node named tutorial. Create the following virtual host structure, replacing tutorial-mycloud with the subdomain for your acceptance environment (visible in your browser's URL bar):

5. Navigate to /hst:platform/hst:hosts. This node configures virtual hosts for preview sites in Channel Manager.

6. Add an hst:virtualhostgroup node named tutorial. Create the following structure, replacing tutorial-mycloud with your subdomain:

7. Click Write changes to the repository to save your configuration.

Note: Consider creating a backup of the /hst:myproject/hst:hosts/tutorial and /hst:platform/hst:hosts/tutorial nodes using the XML Export option in the top menu.

Verify the Deployment in the Environment

1. In the CMS application, open the Content perspective.
2. Navigate to the My Project/News folder.
3. Create a new News document.
4. Enter content and publish the document.

5. On the Details tab of the tutorial environment, click the Site button. The website opens in a new browser tab.
6. Go to the news overview page. The published News article should appear in the list.

This completes the tutorial.
