Configure the Application After First Deployment
Overview
After you install and deploy Bloomreach Experience Manager for the first time, you must configure several services to ensure secure and reliable operation.
This page lists the required configuration tasks to complete after initial deployment.
When to Use
Complete these configuration steps immediately after the first deployment of your Bloomreach Experience Manager application.
Prerequisites
- Bloomreach Experience Manager is installed.
See Linux Installation Manual. - The application is deployed in your target environment.

Configuration Steps
All configuration changes are managed using the Console web application.
1. Delivery Tier Configuration
Configure virtual hosts for your environment.
2. Relevance Module Configuration
Set up data stores and tracking policies for the Relevance Module.
- Configure the Request, Statistics and Visitors Data Stores (SQL Database)
- Configure the Visits Data Store (Elasticsearch)
- Configure the Relevance Module's Tracking Cookie Policy
3. Workflow Process Management
Configure workflow process management for the CMS.
4. CMS Security
Harden CMS security by configuring authentication and user management.
- Login Page (Auto-Completion)
- Password Safety Validation and Password Expiration
- Create Users and Groups
Important:
Delete the default user accounts (admin, editor, author, webmaster) or change their passwords to prevent unauthorized access.
5. Automatic Maintenance Jobs
Configure scheduled maintenance jobs to keep your system clean.
Verification
After completing each configuration step, verify that:
- The relevant service is operational.
- Security settings are enforced.
- Maintenance jobs run as scheduled.
