Use Blue-Green Deployment in Bloomreach Cloud

This tutorial demonstrates how to implement blue-green deployment for a Bloomreach Content project on the Bloomreach Cloud platform using Mission Control.
Blue-green deployment is a release management strategy that uses two identical production environments, referred to as Blue and Green. At any time, only one environment (for example, Blue) serves production traffic. You deploy a new release to the other environment (for example, Green). After deployment and acceptance testing, you switch routing so all production traffic goes to Green. This approach minimizes downtime and reduces deployment risk.
This tutorial covers the following steps:
- Prepare the First Project Release
- Release version 1.0.0 of the project created in the Deploy in Bloomreach Cloud tutorial.
- Create a distribution for release 1.0.0.
- Deploy the Project in the Blue Environment
- Add the blue environment.
- Deploy release 1.0.0 to the blue environment.
- Configure the applications.
- Make Changes to the Project
- Develop a new feature in the project.
- Release version 1.0.1 of the project.
- Create a distribution for release 1.0.1.
- Deploy the Updated Project to the Green Environment
- Add the green environment.
- Copy CMS data from the blue environment to the green environment.
- Deploy release 1.0.1 to the green environment.
- Switch production traffic routing from blue to green.
Prerequisites
Complete the Deploy in Bloomreach Cloud tutorial before starting. You will use the Bloomreach Content project created in that tutorial.
