Configuration

Configuration refers to the data stored in the repository that determines how a specific instance of Bloomreach Content operates. This data is contributed by Bloomreach Content, developers, and administrators. Configuration controls system behavior and is distinct from content.

Content

Content refers to the data in the repository that users create and maintain to manage their websites. Content is managed through Bloomreach Content and is separate from configuration data.

Bloomreach Content

In configuration management, Bloomreach Content refers to the product’s core code and default configuration provided out of the box. Implementations extend this base to meet specific requirements.

Implementation

An implementation is a customized instance of Bloomreach Content. Developers extend the base product to address specific customer needs or use cases.

Configuration Model

Starting with CMS 12, Bloomreach Content maintains an in-memory model representing the desired set of configuration. This Configuration Model merges all configuration contributions into a single structure. It includes metadata, such as the source and processing order for nodes and properties. In most cases, the Configuration Model matches the configuration portion of the repository, with added tracking information.

Repository

The repository is the persistent storage for Bloomreach Content. It stores both configuration and content data.
