More Like This and Just For You Components

Overview

The More Like This and Just For You components deliver personalized product recommendations based on user interactions. Both components use Bloomreach APIs to display relevant products to individual customers.

Component Overview

More Like This

The More Like This component integrates with the Bloomreach More Like This (MLT) API. It extends search results by recommending products similar to those a user has viewed or searched for. Recommendations are based on user searches, category selections, and product views. For example, if a user views a red cocktail dress, the component may suggest other cocktail dresses, matching shoes, or related accessories.

Just For You

The Just For You component uses the Bloomreach Just For You (JFY) API, which is part of Bloomreach Personalization. JFY provides two main personalization features:

• Product Recommendations: Suggests products based on the customer's browsing history. For example, if a customer views high-heeled shoes, the component may recommend stiletto heels or other high-heeled footwear.
• Dynamic Categories: Recommends categories with sample products based on browsing patterns. For example, if a customer browses several Louboutin slingback heels, the component may suggest categories such as Shoes by Christian Louboutin or Evening Wear Shoes by Christian Louboutin, and display products from those categories.

Component Details

Both More Like This and Just For You are command chain delivery components. These components require the Bloomreach APIs to be enabled in the channel settings.

• More Like This:
  This component requires a Product Id. The API uses this value to return a set of related products. The connector component is moreLikeThis. The external request includes a parameter named br_uuid_2, which is associated with the tracking pixel. This parameter helps improve the relevance of personalized results.

• Just For You:
  This component does not require configuration beyond placement on landing pages. The only configurable option is the number of products displayed. The connector component is justForYou, which also uses the br_uuid_2 parameter to generate product recommendations.

Template Details

The More Like This component uses the same templates as the Product Grid component:

• starterstore-productlist.ftl: Displays a list of product previews.
• starterstore-productlist-atc.ftl: Similar to the above, but includes an Add to Cart button.

The Just For You component uses only the starterstore-productlist.ftl template.
