Update SCXML Workflow Definition

The document workflow in Hippo is defined using an SCXML file. brXM 14 introduces improvements to the default workflow definition. If your project uses a customized SCXML workflow, review and merge your changes with the updated default SCXML provided in version 14.

A patch file is available. This file shows the differences between the SCXML definitions in brXM 13.0 and brXM 14.

Key product changes include:

• CMS-12164: Authors now have rights to copy (un)published documents, rename, delete, or move unpublished documents in the CMS by default.
• REPO-2239: Editors and authors no longer require write permissions to folders.

Document Types: Boolean Radio Group Configuration Changes

In version 13.x, you could override the default 'true' and 'false' labels in a Boolean Radio Group using the trueLabel and falseLabel properties. These properties were deprecated in 13.2.0 and removed in 14.0. Use the source property to specify a value list document with items keyed as 'true' and 'false' and the desired labels.

If your document types still use trueLabel or falseLabel, replace them with the source property referencing a value list document.

HST Configuration: Removal of hst:defaulthostname

In version 13.1, you could set a default host on the hst:hosts node using the hst:defaulthostname property. This property prevented the Projects feature from working correctly. Support for hst:defaulthostname was deprecated in 13.2 and removed in 14.0. Remove this property from your configuration if it is still present.

Dashboard Shortcuts: Rename workaround Property to sortingWeight

In version 13, dashboard shortcuts in the CMS used the JCR property workaround for sorting. In version 14, this property is now named sortingWeight. Update your dashboard shortcut bootstrap configuration to use sortingWeight instead of workaround. Set the value as a Long, not a String.

Enterprise Forms: Update Extensions Using PDFBox and Velocity

brXM 14 updates PDFBox and Velocity dependencies to their latest major versions. If your project includes Enterprise Forms extensions or custom logic using PDFBox or Velocity, update your code as needed.

• PDFBox is updated from 1.8.16 to 2.0.16. Refer to the PDFBox migration guide for details.
• Velocity is updated from 1.7 to 2.0, and Velocity Tools from 2.1 to 3.0. Refer to the Velocity upgrade guide and the Velocity Tools upgrade guide.

Relevance: Remove MVCC Parameter from H2 Database Connection URL

Bloomreach Content projects commonly use an H2 database as the SQL data store for relevance data in local Cargo-based development environments. In version 13.x, the default configuration included the MVCC parameter in the database connection URL.

Version 14.0.0 requires H2 database driver version 1.4.199 or higher. The MVCC parameter is not supported in H2 version 1.4.200 and later. See H2 issue 2198.

To ensure compatibility with future releases, remove the MVCC parameter from your configuration.

In conf/context.xml, locate the <Resource> element with name="jdbc/targetingDS" and driverClassName="org.h2.Driver". Change the url attribute from:

url="jdbc:h2:${repo.path}/targeting/targeting;MVCC=TRUE"

to:

url="jdbc:h2:${repo.path}/targeting/targeting"
