Category ID Conversion in Category Documents for Elastic Path

In previous versions, category documents (such as starterstoreboot:categorydecorator nodes) stored category identifiers as Base32-like encoded strings. For example, identifiers appeared as kzcvgvcsjfpucucqifjektc7jvcu4uy= instead of readable values like VESTRI_APPAREL_MENS. This encoding allowed the category picker field to display the correct category title by retrieving data from the Elastic Path backend.

Starting with version 14.0.0, category documents now store human-readable category identifiers. For example, identifiers now appear as VESTRI_APPAREL_MENS instead of kzcvgvcsjfpucucqifjektc7jvcu4uy=. As a result, category-related page URLs are also more readable.

To convert existing category identifier values in your category documents:

1. In the Bloomreach Content console, go to Setup > System > Update Editor.
2. Run the script named Accelerator - Reset ElasticPath Category Decorator External Resource IDs.
3. If the script completes without errors, the conversion is successful.

No additional steps are required after a successful script execution.
