News Component

The News component is implemented by the following class:

Overview

The News component extends the functionality of the List component. Like the Events component, it allows you to configure a query filter to hide all future news items. This enables CMS users to prepare news items in advance without making them visible until the specified date. The component uses a day-level date granularity. News items become available when a new day begins.

Component Parameters

Name	Description
hideFutureItems	Boolean flag to control whether future news items are hidden. By default, future items are hidden.
documentDateField	Name of the repository node attribute that stores the news document's date value. This parameter is used only if future item hiding is enabled.

For additional parameters, refer to the inherited parameters of the List Component.

Note:
The News component is part of the News feature in the Essentials Library. This feature also provides a News Item document type and a News List Experience manager component.

When you add the News List component to a page template in Experience manager, configure the following fields in the component's dialog (replace myproject with your project's namespace):

• Field that contains document date (for hiding): myproject:date
• News Document types (comma separated): myproject:newsdocument

Request Parameters

The News component does not introduce additional request parameters. It inherits all request parameters from the List Component.

Rendering Attributes

The News component does not define additional rendering attributes. It inherits all rendering attributes from the List Component.
