Field Types

Bloomreach Content provides two types of HTML fields: formatted text and rich text.

  • Formatted text fields support basic text formatting, such as bold, underline, and lists. They do not support links or images.
  • Rich text fields support advanced editing features, including links, images, tables, and other markup.

CKEditor

The CMS uses a customized version of CKEditor 4 for editing HTML fields.

Versioning

CKEditor versions differ between Bloomreach Content editions and releases due to licensing requirements:

  • Developer Edition uses CKEditor 4.22.1-h1

  • Enterprise Edition uses CKEditor 4.25.0-lts-h1

    The Enterprise Edition includes CKEditor through the Maven dependency hippo-enterprise-package-cms-dependencies, which must be present in your Maven build.

For versions prior to those listed above, CKEditor 4.19.0-h2 is used.
