Upgrade to Elasticsearch 8

brXM 15.0 introduces support for Elasticsearch 8.1. If your implementation uses Relevance with Elasticsearch 7, you can upgrade to Elasticsearch 8.

Elasticsearch 8.1 introduces several changes compared to Elasticsearch 7. The most significant change is that security features are enabled by default.

The following security settings are enabled in /elasticsearch-8.1.0/config/elasticsearch.yml:

xpack.security.enabled: true

xpack.security.enrollment.enabled: true

xpack.security.http.ssl:
  enabled: true
  keystore.path: certs/http.p12

xpack.security.transport.ssl:
  enabled: true
  verification_mode: certificate
  keystore.path: certs/transport.p12
  truststore.path: certs/transport.p12

If you upgrade from Elasticsearch 7 and security features were already enabled, no changes are required. If security was not enabled on your Elasticsearch 7 server, set the security configuration properties above to false. Without this adjustment, you will not be able to connect to the Elasticsearch 8.1 server without authentication.

Before upgrading to Elasticsearch 8.1, upgrade your Elasticsearch 7 server to version 7.17. This step enables you to use the Elasticsearch Upgrade Assistant. For details, see the official upgrade guide:
