Configure the CMS Login Page

Overview

You can configure the Bloomreach Content login page using several options. This page explains each option, when to use it, and how to apply the configuration.

Sign-in Form Auto-Completion

Web browsers often offer to auto-complete form fields using values from previous sessions. While convenient, this behavior may introduce security risks for login forms. HTML provides a way to control form auto-completion. By default, the login plugin allows browsers to use auto-complete on the login form.

To disable auto-completion on the login form:

1. Log in to the Console.
2. Navigate to the login plugin configuration node:

/hippo:configuration/hippo:frontend/login/login/loginPage

3. Add or update the following property:

/loginPage:
  signin.form.autocomplete: false             (defaults to true)

Setting signin.form.autocomplete to false instructs browsers not to auto-complete the login form fields.

Language Selection Dropdown

By default, the CMS UI supports English, French, German, Dutch, and Simplified Chinese. Users select their preferred language on the login page.

The available languages are configured using the multi-valued property:

/hippo:configuration/hippo:frontend/settings/locales

You can override this property to change the order or remove languages from the dropdown.

To add a new language:

1. Review how Bloomreach Content uses localization modules to provide localized UI strings.
2. Check if the language identifier is included in the hippo.cms.locales property in your project's root pom.xml.
   • If the identifier is present, add it to the locales property in the repository.
   • If not, add the identifier to the hippo.cms.locales property in your root pom.xml, then rebuild and redeploy the project. The localization module's bootstrap configuration will add the identifier to the repository property automatically.

Time Zone Selection Dropdown

By default, the CMS UI uses the server's time zone. Starting with brXM 11.0.2, you can enable a time zone selector on the login page. This allows users to select a time zone from a dropdown. The UI will display all dates and times in the selected time zone. The user's browser time zone is preselected automatically.

To enable the time zone selector:

1. Log in to the Console.
2. Navigate to:

/hippo:configuration/hippo:frontend/login/login/loginPage

3. Add a boolean property show.timezones and set it to true.

By default, the selector lists all time zones from the IANA time zone database.

To restrict the dropdown to specific time zones, add a multi-valued string property selectable.timezones.
