commercetools Integration

When importing products from commercetools into brSM, you must establish a link between each product in the commerce backend and its corresponding copy in brSM. brSM uses this link to store product-specific data and retrieve the correct product from the commerce backend.

brSM uses a standard field named variant to store product SKUs. When copying products from commercetools, ensure that the SKU contains the value from the commercetools product key field. For more information, refer to the commercetools product key documentation.

Product ID Format Changes in Product Documents

Product documents (such as starterstoreboot:productdecorator nodes) store identifier strings for associated product data. These identifiers allow the product picker field to display the correct product title by retrieving data from the Commerce Backend Platform.

Starting with version 2.3.0, the identifier string format has changed. The new format is:

id=AUTO_DRIVE;code=11610

• id: The primary identifier specific to the Commerce Backend (for example, commercetools).
• code: A product code used to match products across different systems.

The id value may differ between the Commerce Backend Platform (such as commercetools) and Bloomreach Discovery. However, the code value must remain consistent. This consistency allows Bloomreach Discovery to match a product found in search results with the product displayed on the product detail page, regardless of the source system. Data migration and synchronization processes must ensure that the code value is selected and synchronized correctly. This value can be a human-readable code or another identifier, such as the main variant's SKU.

To convert existing product identifier field values in product documents:

1. In the Admin perspective, open Update Editor.
2. Run the script named StarterStore - Reset Product Decorator External Resource IDs once.
3. If the script completes without errors, the conversion is successful.
