Initialize and Configure the AI Content Assistant

This page describes how to set up and configure the AI Content Assistant and Vector Store.

Initialize and Configure the AI Module

The AI module retrieves its configuration from two sources:

• The JCR repository at /hippo:configuration/hippo:modules/ai-service/hippo:moduleconfig
• Project properties files

The JCR configuration takes precedence. If a property is defined and non-blank in both the JCR and a properties file, the value from the JCR configuration is used.

To install and configure the AI module, follow the appropriate guide for your environment:

• For non-production environments, see Initialize and configure the AI Content Assistant via Essentials.
• For production environments, see Initialize and configure the AI Content Assistant via Properties.

The AI module provides several features, some of which are optional:

Grant Access to the Assistant

Only users with the xm.chatbot.user role can access the AI Content Assistant. Assign this role directly to a user or through a group that includes the role. For instructions on assigning user roles, see the User Management page. After installing the AI plugin, the xm.chatbot.user role becomes available for assignment.
