End-of-Life, Updates, and Supported Product Versions

Terminology

Supported Product Version

A supported product version is eligible for helpdesk assistance under the terms of your service level agreement (SLA) with Bloomreach. Multiple service levels are available.

If a bug is identified in a supported version that is not maintained, Bloomreach will only apply the fix to maintained product versions. To receive the fix, you must upgrade to a maintained version.

Maintained Product Version

A maintained product version receives code updates, including security and bug fixes. System requirements for third-party libraries and components are also updated for maintained versions. Bloomreach supports the use of certified system requirement providers (such as specific databases or Java versions), but does not provide support for the providers themselves.

A non-maintained product version does not receive updates. These versions may contain unresolved bugs or security vulnerabilities, including those introduced by dependencies.

End-of-Life Product Version

End-of-life product versions are neither maintained nor supported. These versions may be available in archives but can be removed without notice.

Bloomreach Content Life Cycle

  • The most recent minor version of the current major release is actively maintained.

  • For the two most recent major releases, only the final minor versions are actively maintained.
Example: If the latest release is brXM 15.x, the final minor versions of 15.x and 14.x are actively maintained.

The table below shows the support status and planned end-of-support dates for each version. Support status depends on the version and your license level. Versions not listed are end-of-life and not supported.

Customer Guidance

  1. New customers should start with the most recent minor release and apply updates until the next major version is available. At that point, you can choose to remain on the final minor version for a period or upgrade to the next major version and continue with minor updates. Select the approach that matches your requirements.

  2. Existing customers running a final minor version from an older release should update to the previous or latest minor version of the most recent major release, or wait for a new final minor version to become available.

  3. If you are using a non-maintained version, upgrade to a maintained version. While helpdesk support is available for supported but non-maintained versions, you may encounter unresolved bugs, compatibility issues, or security vulnerabilities. Fixes for supported versions are only applied to maintained product versions. To receive a fix, you must upgrade to a maintained version.
